A contemporary examination of what information is represented, how that information is presented, and who gets to participate (and serve as gatekeeper) in the world's largest online repository for information, Wikipedia. Bridging contemporary education research that addresses the 'experiential epistemology' of learning to use Wikipedia with an understanding of how the inception and design of the platform assists this, the book explores the complex disconnect between the encyclopedia's formalized policy and the often unspoken norms that govern its knowledge-making processes. Dit werk is in eerste instantie een leerboek waarmee de student een volledig en grondig overzicht zal krijgen van het hedendaagse verbintenissenrecht. Maar het is een leerboek voor de 21ste eeuw: het werd voor de studenten aantrekkelijk, leesbaar en toegankelijk gemaakt door het gebruik van hoofdtekst en blokjes, van gekleurde trefwoorden in het Nederlands en het Frans, van eye-catchers en schema's. De voetnoten verhuisden naar de linkerkant, waar regelmatig ruimte overblijft voor persoonlijke notities. Meer dan in Boek 1 ligt voor de studenten in dit boek de nadruk op het verschaffen van inzicht in de juridische mechanismen aan de hand van de schema’s. De talrijke lezers van het eerste boekdeel weten dat het leerboek eigenlijk de inhoud en strekking heeft van een ernstig handboek. Zoals in het eerste boekdeel streven wij grondigheid na, met kritische overzichten van de recentste wetgeving, rechtspraak en rechtsleer, en met persoonlijke stellingnames.
